EXPERIENCE: LEAD HADOOP ADMINISTRATOR -- Top Secret Corp, (12/2015 - 10/2016) • Landed Healthcare PHI from Teradata and Oracle databases to HDFS or Hive. • Worked closely with SAS Solutions Architect and brought him up to speed with basic Hadoop. • Configured 3 Clusters for High Availability Hadoop--NameNode, ResourceManager and Hive Services. • Responsible for Hadoop regression tests of 5 Hortonworks Clusters. • Provided infrastructure advice to optimize resources--saving over $60,000 in hardware costs. • Encrypted, Centrified (Kerberized) and Rangerized Hadoop Clusters for Healthcare PHI. • Mitigated future hard drive space issues by intensive synthetic workloads--shakedown cruise. • Troubleshooted job failures using log analysis and experience. HADOOP ADMINISTRATOR -- Sears Holdings Corp, (1/2013 - 09/2014) • Suggested, and later implemented, a suite of production regression tests that validated peripheral Hadoop components--Hbase, Hive, Oozie, Sqoop, Pig, etc; BASH scripts were coded and optimized for Samsung mobile devices--easing administration during off hours. • Authored an hour-by-hour document that included every command and procedure, with execution times, during a Production Upgrade of 616 Worker Nodes to CentOS 6.4 and CDH 4.3. • Designed an online, internal web-based RunBook for the Production Hadoop Master and Worker Nodes that included hardware information, production changes and software versions. • As Primary Support Administrator, analyzed system resources and poorly coded jobs; cleared HDFS space and provided technical support. • Assisted by the Network Administrator, installed and benchmarked a Mellanox Infiniband switch, network cards and software for CentOS 6.4. TEST ENGINEER -- IBM, (3/2011 - 11/2011) • Responsible for writing defect reports for failed server tests. • Ensured functional tests were consistent across Enterprise OS platforms—Linux and Windows. • Discovered firmware errors that were constant or intermittent. • Wrote Linux BASH scripts for automated testing. • Experienced using BIT (BMC IPMI Tester), SM_Bridge and ASU testing. • Testing environment included the following IBM servers: Kong (x3750) and Ghidorah (x3850).
